Research

Our aim is to understand the molecular bases of the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. We focus our research on the conformational and dynamic properties of actin in different biologically relevant model systems. The investigations also involve the description of the interactions between actin and actin-binding proteins (formins, cofilin, profilin, twinfillin, myosin and tropomyosin). We use fluorescence spectroscopic and rapid kinetic methods to study these proteins. The projects are carried out within the framework of national and international collaborations.
